Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) has finalized its 2025 driver lineups for its return to INDY NXT presented by Firestone in 2025, with veterans Jonathan Browne and Niels Koolen in the cockpit.
CGR will field a team in the INDYCAR development series for the first time since 2007. Browne will drive the No. 9 car, with Koolen in the No. 10.
Browne, from Ireland, scored eight top-10 finishes as an INDY NXT rookie in 2024.
“This is very much a dream come true,” Browne said. “In terms of being brought into an organization like Chip Ganassi Racing, it’s huge. I’m just excited to get started and get to racing. It’s a huge honor and privilege to be a part of this organization.”
Koolen (photo, left), from the Netherlands, raced in a limited schedule of INDY NXT last season as a rookie, part of a campaign that also included starts in Formula 2 and the European Le Mans Series.
“I'm excited to be doing my second year and first full season in INDY NXT,” Koolen said. “I look forward to working with Chip Ganassi Racing, who have great pedigree and vast experience across many different categories.”
The 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season starts Sunday, March 2 on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
