It won’t be difficult to remember how to find NTT INDYCAR SERIES races in 2025 and the seasons thereafter.
Just remember this: It will be all FOX, all the time.
In a first for North America’s top open-wheel series and a rarity in today’s sports landscape, all 17 NTT INDYCAR SERIES races will appear on the same network, and for the first time in history, one network will have the live broadcast the top two U.S. motorsports events – the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge and NASCAR’s Daytona 500 – in the same year.
Additionally, FOX will broadcast “500” qualifying from Indianapolis Motor Speedway on both days, bringing the total number of broadcast windows to 19, which is a record for the series. It’s also a 50 percent increase in network exposure from this season.
Here’s the other thing: All those events can be viewed on a free, over-the-air channel, making the sport accessible to all.
“Compelling,” INDYCAR CEO Mark Miles called it.
This year, NTT INDYCAR SERIES races are divided between NBC, USA Network and Peacock, NBC’s live streaming service. That’s three different places to find races throughout the year. While noting what a great partner NBC Sports has been, Miles said it was the lengthy negotiations to get all races on the same channel.
“We love that fans will know where to go (to watch races),” Miles said of the multiyear arrangement. “We love that there’s a great deal of consistency, and we think this maximizes the audience.
“I don’t know if I’d think differently if we had two or three times the number of races, but for what we have … for us to have one powerful, committed partner will maximize our fan base and our audience.”
The series races also will be available on the FOX Sports app.
“One of our mantras at FOX Sports is, simple wins,” FOX Sports CEO Eric Shanks said during the announcement. “It’s just a fact that the biggest events and the broadcast audiences are on broadcast television.
“FOX is distributed not only over the air but also on every streaming platform that’s out there. So, we’re reaching audiences no matter demographic, no matter age.”
Next year’s NTT INDYCAR SERIES season will begin March 2 with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. FOX Sports will be in the midst of broadcasting the first 14 events of the NASCAR schedule, which gives motorsports great synergy, Shanks said.
“There’s going to be a great halo effect for all of motorsports,” he said. “Once you start to put the two schedules together – both (INDYCAR) and NASCAR – there’s going to be a great halo effort of motorsports because a lot of times they’re going to be leading in and out of each other.”
NASCAR’s 2025 schedule has not been announced. The start times for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES also have not yet been announced.
All NTT INDYCAR SERIES practices and qualifying sessions, except when FOX carries Indy qualifying, will air on cable channels FS1 and FS2. INDY NXT by Firestone races will air mostly on FS1, with some on FS2.
FOX will have large broadcast windows for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES races – 2.5 hours for each race except for the “500,” which will have a five-hour window. FOX Deportes will carry exclusive Spanish-language television coverage, as well.
Broadcasters will be announced at a later date, Shanks said.
The macro change to the 17-race schedule is an earlier start and an earlier end to the season, which Miles likes as it relates to avoiding conflict with the NFL’s regular season. The season’s final race will be Aug. 31 at Nashville Superspeedway.
Additionally, the March 23 race at The Thermal Club in Southern California will become an official, points-paying race, the race at World Wide Technology Raceway will move to June 15, and the race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will be held July 27.
