INDYCAR Fast Six: What's trending in @INDYCAR from Dec. 28 - Jan. 4
JAN 04, 2017
INDYCAR's "Fast Six" is a report derived from all things found online about Verizon IndyCar Series racing, its drivers and people. We seek and find pics and quips as INDYCAR drivers live their extraordinary lives and put the evidence into tweets, Instagrams and more. Check back regularly when we post the latest.
The Whig Party
The Andrettis – Mario, Michael and Marco – rang in 2017 in costume and the photo of the legendary family of racers caused plenty of liking and commenting on Marco’s social media accounts. We’re not sure if Marco’s and Michael’s wigs were meant to have themes, but Mario’s strawberry blonde comb over, worn with a white shirt and red tie, sure made him look like the next POTUS. Republican history in mind, we’ll call that a Whig Party.
Dressing down
While the Andrettis were dressing up, the Dixons remembered a time when they dressed down. No idea if Scott and Emma repeated this older shot since they were in Colorado skiing, but Kudos to them for their creativity in honoring England!
Hahahaha maybe! Any requests? Lol 😆 RT @JTCornish: @scottdixon9 @EmmaDaviesDixon Agreed! Will there be naked shenanigans again?? Hahahaha pic.twitter.com/nxaEJjlBbt

#DJCD
Conor Daly hosted a "Great Gatsby"-themed New Year’s Eve Party in Indianapolis, and it also gave us a chance to meet his musical alter ego, DJ CD. We think we’ll see this guy regularly this coming season but we aren’t sure if he can get his new boss to sport a flat-billed cap.

It’s not the Borg-Warner but…
Graham Rahal spends a lot of his time dreaming about winning the Borg-Warner Trophy. But, hockey’s ultimate prize, the Stanley Cup (which visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2015) isn’t a bad alternative, too, as seen here in the snap Rahal posted from the NHL’s Winter Classic in St. Louis.
Life in the slow lane
Meanwhile, Will Power is moving at a slower pace than usual and he and wife Liz enjoy their first days with their new son, Beau. Thanks to him for taking us grocery shopping and letting is in on the cuddly sweetness, too.
Happy New Year!
Meanwhile, JR Hildebrand was apparently dreaming of speed as the calendar flipped to 2017. While some of us where bidding 2016 a good riddance in the Twittersphere, JR – who turned 29 on Jan. 3 -- helped us experience his joy about his full-time gig with Ed Carpenter Racing this year:
...but then I remember I'm going back full-time!! 👌👌 pic.twitter.com/hBEqH81ldZ
