Two weeks after claiming the Verizon IndyCar Series championship, Team Penske's Simon Pagenaud is back in a racecar in hopes of helping Chevrolet win another title.

The newly crowned Verizon IndyCar Series champion will join IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship prototype class leaders Dane Cameron and Eric Curran for the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta this weekend.

It will be Frenchman's second time alongside Cameron and Curran in the No. 31 Corvette Daytona Prototype fielded by Action Express Racing, Cameron and Curran have a one-point lead over Action Express' other car driven by former Indy car competitor Christian Fittipaldi and Joao Barbosa. Pagenaud, who won five Verizon IndyCar Series races in 2017 en route to the series title, joined Cameron, Curran and Johnny Adam this year's season-opening 24 Hours of Daytona, where the team registered a sixth-place finish. 

Pagenaud will be joined on the track by some familiar faces and four other Verizon IndyCar Series drivers  are slated to compete in the 10-hour endurance race. Andretti Autosport's Ryan Hunter-Reay will join Mark Goosens and Ryan Dalziel in the No. 90 Visit Florida Racing Corvette DP while Ed Carpenter Racing's Spencer Pigot will pull double-duty as he's entered as the third driver in both factory Mazda Prototypes.

Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon and KVSH Racing's Sebastien Bourdais will compete in the GT-Le Mans category with Ford Chip Ganassi Racing in the Ford GT. Dixon joins Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe, who lie second in the series standings, in the No. 67 car while the Le Mans 24 Hour class-winning team of Bourdais, Joey Hand and Dirk Mueller have been reunited in the No. 66 car.

The race begins at 11:10 a.m. Saturday. It can be streamed in its entirety on IMSA.com, while live TV coverage will consist of the opening hour on FS1, then 2:30 to 6 PM ET on FS2. A full race recap will be telecast on FS1 at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
