Bio

Mario Romancini is another Firestone Indy Lights driver to advance to the IZOD IndyCar Series.

He was a two-time race winner in Firestone Indy Lights in 2009 and joined Conquest Racing for the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series season.

Romancini, who speaks fluent English and Spanish in addition to Portugeuse, attended one year of law school in Brazil before moving to Europe to pursue his racing career.

He enjoys playing golf and tennis in addition to karting.

2010
• Competed in 11 races for Conquest Racing.
• Recorded best finish of 13th at St. Petersburg and Indianapolis.
• Had best starting position of 17th at Toronto and Edmonton in back-to-back races.

ROAD TO IZOD INDYCAR SERIES

2009
• Finished sixth in Firestone Indy Lights for Andersen Racing with wins at Milwaukee and Homestead.
• Earned five top-five and 11 top-10 finishes.

2008
• Competed in the World Series by Renault for Epsilon Euskadi with best finish of ninth at Nürburgring.
• Made three starts in the Brazilian Copa Nextel stock car series.

2007
• Finished second in South American F3 for Cesario F3 with two wins, two pole positions and 10 podium finishes in 14 starts.

2006
• Finished fifth in the Brazilian Formula Renault 2.0 championship for Full Time Racing with one win (Interlagos), one pole position and two podiums
• Was highest finishing rookie driver in the championship.

Early Career
• Competed in karting from 2002-05 in Brazil, winning the Petrobras Cup and finishing second in the Sao Paulo Cup.
• Finished second in the World Karting Championship Federation Cup and third in the Pan-American Cup.
