Bio

Justin Wilson inherited his father's passion for racing, though his father's amateur racing career was ended by injuries before his son was born.

Wilson showed he had a talent for racing, winning titles in karting, formula cars and eventually progressing to Formula One, selling nearly 900 shares of himself to investors as a means of funding his racing career.

Joining the IndyCar Series in 2008, he won one race each in 2008 and 2009. Wilson has honed his racing skills by using iRacing Motorsports Simulation, a virtual racing simulator where drivers can race in real time against other iRacing.com subscribers via their computer.

“I’m able to do laps at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on any day I want to on iRacing,” he said. “It’s so realistic it’s pretty cool to drive. It gives you the same sensation as in real life. It allows us to test there and do different things so when you do turn up at a racetrack you feel more comfortable and can get up to speed safer and quicker.”
