Andretti Autosport announced today the addition of a new partner as national ready-mixed concrete producer U.S. Concrete will sponsor the No. 98 Andretti Herta Autosport with Curb-Agajanian Honda driven by Marco Andretti in six Verizon IndyCar Series races this season.
Entering his 13th season in the series, the third-generation racer will fly the U.S. Concrete colors for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 15, INDYCAR Grand Prix on May 12, Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil on May 27, Texas Indy 600 on June 9, ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway on Aug. 19 and the season-ending Grand Prix of Sonoma on Sept. 16.
“I’m really happy to welcome U.S. Concrete to the Verizon IndyCar Series and our Andretti family,” said Michael Andretti, CEO of Andretti Autosport and Marco Andretti’s father. “U.S. Concrete is a leading brand in its industry, as is the Andretti brand in INDYCAR, so we are very excited about this partnership.”
The announcement marks the first foray into INDYCAR racing for U.S. Concrete, a leader in concrete manufacturing and green building. Andrew Pinkerton, the company’s marketing communications manager, said the partnership with Andretti Autosport is an excellent fit with the brand.
“The legacy and strength of the Andretti team exemplifies the business units that make up the U.S. Concrete family and is an excellent platform to showcase what we offer,” Pinkerton said. “Our partnership with Marco Andretti and Andretti Autosport is very exciting and we look forward to taking this partnership beyond the racetrack and integrating the Andrettis’ winning formula into our business.”
United Rentals expands sponsorship with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing announced an extension today of its multiyear agreement with United Rentals Inc., that will see the largest equipment rental company in the world continue as a full-season associate sponsor for the Verizon IndyCar Series team and primary sponsorship for five races.
RLL’s partnership with United Rentals began in 2016 and included two races as a primary sponsor. It continued last year and expanded to three races of primary sponsorship on Graham Rahal’s No. 15 Honda. In 2018, the primary sponsorship will be for the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 11, INDYCAR Grand Prix on May 12, Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil on May 27 and the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix doubleheader on June 2-3.
“I’m thrilled to extend the partnership with United Rentals early, and the entire team is excited to build on the shared success of the last two years,” said Bobby Rahal, co-owner of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing with former late-night talk-show host David Letterman and Mi-Jack co-owner Michael Lanigan. “We have enjoyed a tremendously successful partnership together and take pride in the small part we play in their philanthropic program in support of SoldierStrong.
“The month of May is a special time for us every year with the world’s most famous race – the Indianapolis 500 – and we look forward to working with them to maximize their return on investment during May as well as the entire season.”
United Rentals will continue its popular Turns for Troops program that generates a $50 donation to SoldierStrong for each racing lap Rahal completes in 2018. More than $250,000 has been donated since 2016 through the program that helps the lives of men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
United Rentals also continues as the official equipment partner of the Verizon IndyCar Series.
"Our partnership with RLL and INDYCAR has been a terrific program for United Rentals to highlight our commitment to performance, innovation and safety,” said Chris Hummel, chief marketing officer at United Rentals. “More importantly, we’ve all worked together through Turns for Troops to give back in a meaningful way to those who have served and sacrificed.”
