"It was cool to see all the fans in Fontana for the post session Q&A. Thanks for coming out," Ryan Briscoe tweeted Feb. 10 following a day on the Auto Club Speedway oval in the No. 8 NTT DATA car.
The on-track session, which was free and open to spectators, was the first of a West Coast Chevrolet manufacturer test. The back end is Feb. 12 on the Sonoma Raceway road course.

Briscoe was joined by Chip Ganassi Racing teammates Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan and Charlie Kimball; the Team Penske trio of Helio Castroneves, Juan Pablo Montoya and Will Power; team owner/driver Ed Carpenter (who autographed a Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka cap for a lucky fan); and KVSH Racing's Sebastien Bourdais. Mike Conway will be in the No. 20 Ed Carpenter Racing car at Sonoma Raceway and Sebastian Saavedra will test in a KV Racing Technology car.
Auto Club Speedway president Gillian Zucker was the moderator for the Q&A. Among her questions: Which Olympic sport would you compete in?
"I was watching the biathlon and that is amazing," said Kannan, the 2013 Indianapolis 500 Mile Race winner. "After they ski and then to be so precise with the gun, I like that."
Added Castroneves, a former "Dancing With the Stars" champion: "I think I would do the dancing ... the ice dancing. I was watching it actually, there are a lot of movements exactly what I did on 'Dancing With the Stars.' The only problem for me is I could not go backwards."
Tickets to the MAVTV 500 -- the season finale for the third consecutive year -- are on sale HERE. Last October, Dixon clinched his third IndyCar Series championship in the 250-lap race.
