What happens when Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing sophomore driver Josef Newgarden and two buddies from his hometown bump into a bachelorette party the night before the 97th Indianapolis 500 Mile Race? Laughs ensue, and cameras were rolling.
The scene is part of "INDYCAR 36," which will be broadcast at midnight (ET) June 8 on the NBC Sports Network as a preview to the Firestone 550 in prime time at Texas Motor Speedway.
The crew also spent most of Race Day with Newgarden, who drove the No. 21 Century 21 car in his second 500 Mile Race.
"Josef is a big kid ... living his dream," IMS Productions producer Sean Belby said. "He has a deep respect for tradition and has a great sense of humor, and both shine through. We also learn a lot about his use of social media and more specifically his love of making videos. He does this for his fan base but also finds that his sponsors really appreciate his interaction with the world through technology and electronic media."
Scott Dixon is the focus of the next "INDYCAR 36," which is being filmed this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.
