Spotted at the Chicago Auto Show: Dario Franchitti’s Indianapolis 500-winning car from May 2012 and a Honda Performance Development 2.2-liter, turbocharged V-6 IZOD IndyCar Series engine model at the Honda display. Playing at the nearby Chevrolet display is the trailer from “Turbo” adjacent to a sporty Chevy Camaro.
The show at McCormick Place continues through Feb. 18.
DreamWorks Animation’s feature film “Turbo” is scheduled for July 19 release in theaters. Distributed by 20th Century Fox, the film features an ordinary garden snail whose dream to race in the Indianapolis 500 comes true. Ryan Reynolds is the voice of the main character.

DreamWorks announced Feb. 12 that an animated series-- “Turbo: F.A.S.T.” – will be broadcast on Netflix starting in December.
“Netflix boasts one of the largest and fastest-growing audiences in kids television,” DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeff Katzenberg said. “They pioneered a new model for TV dramas with “House of Cards,” and now together, we’re doing the same thing with kids’ programming.”
An IZOD IndyCar Series show car will be at the Honda Canada display at the Canadian International Auto Show from Feb. 15-24.
Direct Supply continues with Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing
Direct Supply, a sponsor of Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing since its inception in 2008, has re-signed for 2013. It will be the primary sponsor on the No. 67 car driven by Josef Newgarden for the Milwaukee IndyFest in June and an associate sponsor for all other races.

CARA Charities ceases operations
After 30 years of promoting auto racing by engaging in community projects that benefit children’s safety and well-being, the board of directors of CARA Charities has voted to cease operations.
CARA is perhaps best known for Buckle Up Baby, a nationally-recognized child safety program presented in partnership with the Bridgestone of Americas Trust Fund. Nearly $1 million has been donated to provide car seats for children with special needs.
