The number of households tuned in to the NBC Sports Network's broadcast of the 250-lap race on the 2-mile oval showed a 30 percent increase over the 2011 season finale at Kentucky Speedway. Correspondingly, there was a 20 percent increase in the national rating over the 2011 race. Ed Carpenter won both of the races, with Dario Franchitti a close second.
