French driver Theo Pourchaire is replacing Alexander Rossi in Arrow McLaren's No. 7 Ryde Arrow McLaren Chevrolet for this weekend's Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto.
Rossi broke his right thumb when his car hit the tire barrier in Friday's practice at Exhibition Place and has returned to Indianapolis to begin treatment.
Pourchaire, who has been in Europe, has driven for the team in five NTT INDYCAR SERIES races this season, beginning with an 11th-place finish in the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 21. His best finish was 10th in the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear on June 2. Pourchaire qualified a season-best seventh for the street race in the Motor City.
Pourchaire will join Pato O'Ward and Nolan Siegel in the team's three-car lineup for Sunday's 85-lap race, the last held on a street circuit this season. Live coverage on Peacock and the INDYCAR Radio Network begins at 1 p.m.
Pourchaire will not participate in today's 10:30 a.m. ET practice but will be in the car for qualifying at 2:45 p.m. Practice and qualifying will air on Peacock and the INDYCAR Radio Network.
