A.J. Foyt celebrates his birthday Thursday, Jan. 16, and this is a big one: The first four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 turns 90.

Foyt, born Jan. 16, 1935 in Houston, was the first driver to win the Indianapolis 500 four times as a driver (1961, 1964, 1967, 1977). He also won the “500” as a team owner in 1999 with driver Kenny Brack.
Foyt still holds numerous INDYCAR SERIES records, including wins (67), season championships (seven), consecutive race victories (seven) and more. He is the only driver in history to win the Indianapolis 500, Daytona 500 and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
