Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) announced Dec. 13 two appointments to its leadership team, with Will Phillips named as head of trackside engineering and Tom Edwards as team manager.

Phillips brings more than three decades of unparalleled experience in motorsports and automotive technology to JHR. Renowned for his technical acumen and innovative thinking, Phillips has worked with some of the most prestigious teams in motorsport, including high-performance Formula One outfits and major automotive manufacturers. His expertise spans car design, race strategy and performance optimization.

Phillips’ distinguished career includes five years as vice president of technology at INDYCAR, where he oversaw the introduction of the current-generation race car. During his tenure, he collaborated closely with chassis manufacturers and engine suppliers, setting new benchmarks for the series. Additionally, Phillips dedicated seven years as a motorsport safety consultant with the FIA Foundation, driving advancements in safety protocols across the motorsport spectrum. No stranger to JHR, Phillips stepped in to assist the team during the 2023 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season on an interim basis.

Edwards steps into his new role as team manager after a remarkable journey through the motorsport ranks. A graduate of Silverstone Motorsport College, Edwards began his career as a mechanic before advancing to key roles in various prestigious racing series. His experience includes stints in Formula 3, the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and Mahindra Formula E, where he served as the No. 1 mechanic.

Since 2015, Edwards has been an integral part of the U.S. racing scene. He played a crucial role in launching Carlin’s INDY NXT by Firestone program and continued with the outfit as it became Juncos Hollinger Racing.

“I am honored to take on the role of Team Manager at Juncos Hollinger Racing,” said Edwards. “There is boundless potential for growth and success in the years ahead, as I've seen firsthand during my nearly decade-long journey with JHR.”

Ganassi Hosting Garage Sale Dec. 14

Racing fans can grab unique holiday gifts this season at the Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) garage sale, which is offering one-of-a-kind automobilia for purchase Saturday, Dec. 14 at its Indianapolis shop.

The sale is taking place from 7 a.m.-noon (ET) at CGR’s shop, 7777 Woodland Drive in Indianapolis.

A variety of one-of-a-kind items from cars and drivers over the last 10 to 15 years will be sold, include driver firesuits, select bodywork from its race cars, including wings and sidepods, pit crew helmets and more.

CGR also will collect donations of new and unwrapped toys for the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis Annual Toy Drive. Fans donating toys will also receive exclusive CGR trading cards while giving back to the central Indiana community.
