Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course master Scott Dixon led the warmup for The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Presented by the 2025 Civic Hybrid on Sunday morning, as he aims to climb through the field for his seventh victory at the track.

Six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Dixon led at 1 minute, 6.2555 seconds in the No. 9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. Dixon will start 13th in the 27-car field.

NTT P1 Award winner Alex Palou was second at 1:06.4005 in the No. 10 Ridgeline Lubricants Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. Palou is the reigning winner of this race and has three podium finishes in his last three starts on the 13-turn, 2.258-mile circuit.

Colton Herta was third at 1:06.5162 in the No. 26 Gainbridge Honda fielded by Andretti Global with Curb-Agajanian. Scott McLaughlin ended up fourth at 1:06.7235 in the No. 3 Sonsio Team Penske Chevrolet.

Marcus Armstrong put three Chip Ganassi Racing cars in the top five with his best lap of 1:06.7246 in the No. 11 Root Insurance Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.

The new hybrid system already delivered INDYCAR SERIES history during the 30-minute warmup this morning.

Nolan Siegel became the first driver to stall his engine – during an off-course excursion without contact in the No. 6 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet – and use the hybrid system to restart the car, shift into reverse and then drive away without triggering a red flag. INDYCAR SERIES cars required external starters to fire before the hybrid system was introduced this weekend.

“It was good,” Siegel said. “I’m enjoying the hybrid system so far. It’s working flawlessly. It’s really cool to be able to start yourself on track. That’s a big plus.”
