Arrow McLaren Driver Malukas Serves as Series Ambassador at Annual Event
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES was featured April 1 at the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House in Washington, with more than 40,000 children and parents in attendance.
NTT INDYCAR SERIES and Arrow McLaren driver David Malukas was a guest of the White House as part of the special celebration and served as an ambassador for the series as he interacted with thousands of visitors.
An NTT INDYCAR SERIES race car featuring livery promoting the upcoming 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge also was displayed, giving attendees a unique photo opportunity featuring both a race car and the backdrop of one of the world’s most iconic buildings.
The White House Easter Egg Roll is a tradition that dates to 1878. First Lady Jill Biden continued the “EGGucation” theme for the 2024 event, transforming the South Lawn and Ellipse into a school community, full of fun educational activities for children of all ages.
INDYCAR’s kid-friendly activities included many of the machinery and programs drivers use to achieve and maintain the physical fitness necessary to drive in the world’s most competitive racing series. The race fit program included a light reaction test, a strength challenge using a rubber bar simulating the strength needed to control an INDYCAR steering wheel and a ball toss while wearing strobe light glasses.
“It’s a very special and unique experience to visit the White House and take part in this tradition today,” Malukas said. “Interacting with the kids and taking in their excitement as they see their first race car and learn more about INDYCAR is really fun and memorable.”
A coloring sheet depicting INDYCAR safety features also was provided to each child. From the physical fitness required of drivers to the safety and technology present in each car, a true INDYCAR “EGGucation” was provided to all.
The next stop on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule is the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on Sunday, April 21. Coverage will be available via the USA Network, Peacock and the INDYCAR Radio Network beginning at 3 p.m. ET.
Tickets for the 108th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 26 are on sale at IMS.com.
