The signs of May
It’s a certainty that the month of May and all its wonder are just around the corner when city streets in downtown Indianapolis are renamed in honor of the drivers who’ll be competing in the Indianapolis 500.
Several NTT IndyCar Series drivers helped hang their own named street signs, including Tony Kanaan, Spencer Pigot, Marcus Ericsson and Ed Jones.

Back in black
At Wednesday’s Indianapolis Motor Speedway open test, Team Penske’s Will Power was pleased to unveil his sharp-looking ride for the 103rd Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. The defending winner will ride around the oval in a matte black No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet.

A Magic moment for Helio
A pair of sports legends met last week when NBA great Earvin “Magic” Johnson and three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves caught up at a convention for Team Penske sponsor Shell. Now sure if they compared championship rings.

How many dozens in 200?
Andretti Autosport celebrated the 200th win in the team’s history through all racing disciplines by treating staff members to Jack’s Donuts. It appeared to be a winning move.

Taking pause to honor their memory
When the Andretti family visited New York City last week to unveil the car Marco Andretti will run in this year’s Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge, the three generations – Marco, father Michael and grandfather Mario – took time to visit the humbling Sept. 11 memorial in lower Manhattan.
The hashtag on the tweet, #NeverForget, says it all.
Italian roots, American dreams.
