Only four days remain until five Verizon IndyCar Series drivers combine their competitive spirits to take on a team of Sports Illustrated swimsuit models on “Celebrity Family Feud.”
The anticipated episode of the ABC summer hit game show begins at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 31. It airs on the same day that drivers and “Feud” contestants Helio Castroneves, Conor Daly, James Hinchcliffe, Tony Kanaan and Will Power will take on the rest of the Verizon IndyCar Series field at The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, which airs live at 2 p.m. ET on CNBC and has a re-air on NBCSN at 5:30 p.m. It makes for a full day of INDYCAR viewing for the avid fan.
The INDYCAR drivers, captained by Castroneves, will go up against SI models Samantha Hoopes, Tanya Mityushina, Robyn Lawley, Hannah Ferguson and team captain Nina Agdal in the highly rated show hosted by Steve Harvey that returned for another season in June. The episode also features a matchup of former contestants from “The Bachelor” against former contestants of “The Bachelorette.”
In each episode of "Celebrity Family Feud," teams of five compete to win money for a designated charity. Each team consists of a celebrity captain and four relatives or friends. The winning celebrity team in each matchup is given the chance to win up to $25,000 for charity.
The Verizon IndyCar Series quintet will represent the Indy Family Foundation, a fund intended to aid those in the motorsports community (regardless of sanctioning body) in financial need due to hardship caused by illness, injury or death.
"Celebrity Family Feud" returned to the air in 2015 and was ABC's highest-rated summer show. One of INDYCAR's television partners, ABC televised five Verizon IndyCar Series races in 2016, including the historic 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil on May 29.
