Will Power will be at Barber Motorsports Park in a few days. How about you?
Power, driving the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske car, won the 2011 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama – the second race of the IZOD IndyCar Series season -- from the pole position. Of course, the transplanted Aussie will be looking to repeat in an effort to get a solid jump in the championship standings.

The three days of practice, qualifying and the 90-lap race also will feature the second race weekend in the series for Rubens Barrichello, who spent 19 seasons in Formula One. The Firestone Indy Lights race precedes the IZOD IndyCar Series battle on the 2.38-mile, 17-turn road course.
Other reasons to attend:
• Tickets start at $15.
• Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
• You haven’t seen these cars with 2.2-liter, turbocharged V-6 engines from Chevrolet, Honda and Lotus before.
• All parking will be free and on-site Friday and Saturday. There will be complimentary off-site parking located at the Shops of Grand River with a shuttle to the track on Sunday. Premium on-site parking and preferred off-site parking are available for purchase for Sunday.
• There will be activities for the whole family – from a ride on the Ferris wheel from the late Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch to the National Guard zip-line, inflatables and more. Plus, the INDYCAR Fan Village features interactive displays from series partners.
• IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights drivers will be signing autographs on Saturday. Also, Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing driver Graham Rahal – the youngest winner in series history – will be greeting fans from 4:45-5:45 p.m. Thursday at the IZOD store at the Outlet Shops of Grand River.
• Alabama native and NFL legend Bart Starr will be the grand marshal.
