Notes: IndyFest guest Smash Mouth in concert
APR 06, 2012
Smash Mouth, the California party band with multiple hits and 10 million albums sold, will headline the IndyFest 225 post-race concert in the infield of the Milwaukee Mile on June 16. All ticket-holders for the IZOD IndyCar Series race are invited to stay for the concert.
"When we play, it's a nonstop party," Smash Mouth lead singer Steve Harwell said. "I can't imagine anything better than playing at a festival that includes IndyCars and a Milwaukee-style party. We're big race fans, and that just adds to our excitement for the event."
Also, on June 15 will be the IndyFest Battle of the Bands on the infield stage following practice and qualifications. The winning band -- as decided by a panel of celebrity judges -- will receive cash, prizes and the honor of performing a pre-race concert June 16. All June 15 infield general admission tickets allow access to the stage for the battle.
Bands interested in participating in the Battle of the Bands can email: battleofthebands@milwaukeeindyfest.com for more details.
Tickets are on sale for both days of the Milwaukee IndyFest HERE, by phone at 414-266-7100 or at the Wisconsin State Fair Park box office.
