INDIANAPOLIS -- Verizon IndyCar Series drivers traded their fast lanes for a catwalk Thursday at The Fashion Mall at Keystone and are getting rave reviews.
James Hinchcliffe, pole sitter for the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil, current series points leader Simon Pagenaud, Ed Carpenter Racing's Josef Newgarden and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Max Chilton walked the runway in the SP16 Luxe Fashion Show, which represented a partnership between GQ, the Verizon IndyCar Series and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The event was hosted by National GQ Insider Sabir Peele, who gave the drivers high marks for their modeling abilities.
“They might be the most fun guys I’ve worked with," Peele said. "This is not their typical field so you don’t know if they are going to come in and be nervous. They came in and took right to it,” said Peele. “They were like, ‘We’re going to have fun. We’re going to do this. We’re stylish.’ And you saw it when they were on stage. They have the perfect swagger. This was an event made for them and it was cool seeing that whole crowd reaction to it. I loved it.”
