With an escort from third-generation Indy car driver Matthew Brabham, a truck delivering special 8-ounce commemorative Coca-Cola bottles, emblazoned with the Indianapolis 500 logo arrived at the famed yard of bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
In honor of the historic 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race presented by PennGrade Motor Oil, Coca-Cola is selling limited-edition six-packs of the bottles which are expected to fly off Central Indiana store shelves as fast as Verizon IndyCar Series machines circle the 2.5-mile oval.
“I know our fans can’t wait to get their hands on these commemorative Coca-Cola bottles celebrating the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500,” said IMS President Doug Boles.
“It’s great to have partners bringing the excitement of this year’s 100th running to storefronts and people’s homes.”
Coca-Cola is a longstanding partner of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As a longtime team supporter, Coca-Cola annually offers a variety of programs designed to engage and excite fans, including consumer package promotions, VIP experiences and product sampling.
“We congratulate the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on this historic occasion and join with them to celebrate this historic moment in time,” said Jane Grout, general manager of the Indiana/Ohio marketing unit, Coca-Cola refreshments.
“Race fans can pick up their limited edition six-packs and pay tribute to the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 with an ice-cold Coca-Cola in hand.”
