Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka vehicle to roll in Mardi Gras parade Feb. 2
JAN 30, 2013
It will be tough to beat the Hydra – the signature float of the Krewe of Caesar parade – but the Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka vehicle featuring an image of the No. 20 IZOD IndyCar Series car of Ed Carpenter will surely draw attention.
It will roll down the route in the 34th annual Mardi Gras parade in Metairie, La., which steps off at 6 p.m. (local) Feb. 2. Look for the vehicle with company namesake and pro golfer Fuzzy Zoeller, who just might toss a string of beads your way. Fuzzy's soon will be available in Louisiana.
The NFL championship game just happens to be the next day at the Superdome in nearby New Orleans. Jim Harbaugh, coach of the San Francisco 49ers, also is a co-owner of Panther Racing. The 49ers will be opposed by the Baltimore Ravens, coached by John Harbaugh.
Back to the Hydra: The mythical monster had the body of a serpent and many heads (the number of heads deviates from five up to 100, but generally nine is accepted as standard), of which one could never be harmed by any weapon. If any of the other heads were severed another would grow in its place.
Mardi Gras Day is Feb. 12.
In addition to its primary sponsorship of the Ed Carpenter Racing car, Fuzzy’s Ultra Premium Vodka will be the major sponsor for the IZOD IndyCar Series “Triple Crown,” featuring the Indianapolis 500, Pocono 400 and the MAVTV 500.
A $1 million bonus will be awarded to a driver who can win all three oval track races. A driver who wins two of the races will be awarded a $250,000 bonus.
