Colton Herta is starting eighth in the BITNILE.COM Grand Prix of Portland on Sunday, but his pace in final practice Saturday indicates he could drive to the front at Portland International Raceway.
Herta led the 30-minute final practice Saturday, turning a top lap of 59.0031 seconds in the No. 26 Gainbridge Honda of Andretti Global with Curb-Agajanian. Herta is second in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES standings, 59 points behind leader Alex Palou with four races to go.

Palou, who is starting third, kept the pressure on Herta and all chasing rivals by ending up second at 59.2041 in the No. 10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. Reigning series champion and two-time Portland winner Palou is trying to capture his third title in the last four seasons.
Marcus Armstrong put two Chip Ganassi Racing cars in the top three, third at 59.2503 in the No. 11 American Legion Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. Two-time series champion and reigning Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge winner Josef Newgarden rebounded from a disappointing NTT P1 Award qualifying session earlier today by posting the fourth-quickest time in final practice, 59.2515 in the No. 3 TireRack.com Team Penske Chevrolet.
Felix Rosenqvist also rallied in the 30-minute session, rounding out the top five at 59.2773 after smacking the barrier adjacent to Turn 1 during practice this morning in the No. 60 AutoNation/SiriusXM Honda of Meyer Shank Racing.
NTTP P1 Award winner Santino Ferrucci, who claimed A.J. Foyt Racing’s first pole since 2014, was ninth in final practice at 59.4007 in the No. 14 Phoenix Investors Chevrolet.
