There's nothing particularly artsy about this Chris Owens photograph, but it captures a quiet moment between what was then the new Indianapolis 500 winner, Simon Pagenaud of Team Penske, and his beloved dog, Norman.

Norman had joined Pagenaud in victory lane at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and garnered much of the attention in the moments after the No. 22 Menards Chevrolet finished ahead of Andretti Autosport's Alexander Rossi, his No. 27 NAPA AUTO PARTS Honda and the rest of the Indianapolis 500's field. Thus, a shot like this merited consideration for highlighting some of the top NTT IndyCar Series moments of the season.

So, as the year ends, forgive us for including Norman, who accompanied his famous father on the 500's media tour in New York in Through the Lens.
