In the past three years at Auto Club Speedway, Ed Carpenter has finished first, second and third.

He figures it's time to start the cycle over again in 2015.

Carpenter, driving the No. 20 Fuzzy's Ultra Premuium Vodka car, advanced 11 position from his qualifying spot in the MAVTV 500 on the 2-mile oval. It was the final race for Ed Carpenter Racing, which will merge with Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing for the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season as CFH Racing. He led three laps early in the 250-lap race slowed by a lone caution.

A pit lane speed violation, which required Carpenter to drive through pit lane again, blunted his charge.

"It's a good way to finish the season," said Carpenter, who posted a victory at Texas Motor Speedway and earned the Verizon P1 Award for the Indianapolis 500 among his six starts on ovals. "The pit speed limiter didn't work on the third stop and we were too fast I guess. And the limiter didn't work the rest of the race and I had to read the speed into the pit until the end. It was a hard race and I feel like we fought back from a lot of stuff. Overall, the ECR team was just sensational throughout the year. I'm very proud of them."

Mike Conway drove the No. 20 car in the road and street course events, recording victories at Long Beach and Toronto. It's the first time since 2004 (Fernandez Racing) that a one-car team had scored three victories in a season.

Will Power wrapped up the Verizon IndyCar Series championship with a ninth-place finish after qualifying 21st in the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske car. Carlos Munoz, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award winner, also advanced 11 positions to finish eighth in the No. 34 Cinsay AndrettiTV.com - HVM car.
